About Collective Thought

Who are we?

Collective Thought is a group of experienced business people who are looking for new business opportunities.  We have skills and experience gained from building and exiting a wide range of businesses, and want to invest those skills in your business.

Collective Thought provides an infrastructure which allows companies to communicate with and ask questions of other companies in a similar position to you and with business angels.  By sharing our experiences, we all become stronger.

When we say "invest", what do we mean?

Initially we are talking about an investment of time.  It's a fact that most early stage businesses seeking finance are not actually ready to take that step. We provide the knowledge to make companies investment ready, and give strength and depth to your Board.

What about after the company is investment ready?

Many of the Collective are active business angels, meaning that they invest their hard-earned cash into attractive business opportunities.  They are an obvious potential source of financial investment.

We also have contacts throughout the UK with potential partners and will seek to put the right opportunities in front of the right people.

Do we guarantee success?

No.  Our involvement doesn't guarantee that you'll be millionaires in three years, or even that your business will survive that long.  Business is ruthless and competition is increasingly global.  What we do promise is our best efforts to maximise your position.

Who do we work with?

We have a number of partner companies with whom we work closely.  There's no obligation on you to use them, but they are committed to give companies in the Collective value for money.

What are the next steps?

If you're interested in learning more, please contact us.  Send us a copy of your business plan and we'll take a look. If we feel that it's worthwhile getting together, we'll arrange a meeting with you to discuss the next steps.  The key to this meeting is to decide whether:

(a) we believe that you have the makings of a good business,

(b) we think there's a role for us to help you make it happen; and, most importantly

(c) do we like you, and you like us?

If the answer to all three is positive, then we will issue a term sheet to you which will involve the Collective taking an equity stake in your business in return for our involvement.
